Dozens stand up early for free COVID-19 vaccines in Lee County

LEE COUNTY, Florida – The Florida Department of Health in Lee County is launching the Modern COVID-19 vaccine at its most vulnerable start on December 28th.

Dozens of cars camped overnight on Dec. 27 to secure their place in the queue.

High-risk health workers in the front line and 65-year-olds can get vaccinated with vaccines. The Lee County Department of Health will have 300 doses of the vaccine at each location.

The vaccination is free and no appointment is required. Patients will need to bring proof of identity, or a copy of an ID number or payroll for health care workers, according to the Department of Health.

According to the Moderna vaccine, a second dose should be administered at least 28 days after the first dose.
