Stocks mostly ended lower Friday and dropped in the last minutes of trading towards the lows of the session. Technically-related stocks bounced after a sudden rise in treasury yields, but still suffered weekly losses. The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA,
according to preliminary figures, it ended with a loss of about 475 points, or 1.5%, almost 30,928. The blue chip meter fell 1.8% this week, dampened by a shift in shares of companies that are more sensitive to the economic cycle. The S&P 500 SPX,
gave up a modest gain before the close, with a loss of about 18 points, or 0.5%, close to 3,811, leaving it with a weekly drop of 2.5%. The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite held on to a gain of about 73 points, or 0.6%, to close near 13,332 on Friday, after having its biggest one-day drop since October in the previous session. The Nasdaq suffered a weekly decline of 4.9%.
