Doug Pederson’s future as Eagles head coach blurred: reported

Doug Pederson may not be the coach of the Philadelphia Eagles for much longer.

Pederson’s future as head coach of the team is ‘not fixed’ and he could be let go if team owner Jeffrey Lurie is not confident about the coach’s vision, ESPN Sunday reported.

The recent speculation about Pederson’s future comes a week after the team was accused of playing against the Washington Football Team in a game with play-off implications.

Washington won and was able to claim the NFC East title, but if they lost, the New York Giants would have won the division crown.

Pederson made the heavily criticized decision to place Jalen Hurts for Nate Sudfeld for the Eagles’ last four times. Carson Wentz was inactive.

There are rumors that Pederson’s relationship with Wentz is ‘broken’, but he pushed back the allegations last week.

“The relationship is good, it’s good, and it’s something we will build on,” he said.

Pederson helped Philadelphia win its only Super Bowl title. The Eagles signed Pederson just two years ago to extend his contract until 2022.
