On March 21, the presidential debate between Andrés Arauz, of the Alliance of the United Nations (UNES), lists 1-5; and Guillermo Lasso, of the Alliance Creo 21 – PSC 6, as part of the electoral process of the second round or ballot that will be completed on April 11.
The debate, which is obligatory, will be unveiled at TC Television’s studios for live broadcast by national cadence and will attend the official election speeches of the National Electoral Council (CNE), at 20:00. The moderation will be carried by the periodical Andrea Bernal, in accordance with the recommendation made by the National Committee for Debates on the electoral organ.
It will be the first time that Lasso and Arauz coincide in a debate by the CNE, is that in the first vuelta estuvieron in separate groups, debid to the large number of presidential candidates. In addition, Arauz apologizes for participating in debates organized by the Guayaquil Chamber of Commerce and the Espíritu Santo University of Specialty, as well as by the diary El Comercio of Quito.
On the eve of March 18, the committee will present its thematic issues for the Ecuador 2021 Debate – Second World War on the CNE
The event will feature five major topics:
- 1. Economy and employment.
- 2. Health, evacuation, social security and infantile nutrition.
- 3. Democracy and state institutionalization: Independence of powers, citizen participation and transparency.
- 4. Education, human development and technology.
- 5. International relations, human mobility and sustainable development.

Each topic is debated between aspiring aspirants in blocks. In addition, there is an opening section, a questionnaire between candidates, a final questionnaire and a ceremony, with a time limit of 30 minutes.
