Kyle Van Noy may not be released.
After the surprising news that the Dolphins were planning to release the veteran linebacker, ESPN.com reports that the team is now trying to trade Van Noy.
Miami signed Van Noy from rival Patriots for a $ 51 million deal for four years out of season. Despite a respected season, the Dolphins are determined to attract from Van Noy and save $ 9.7 million in capital.
Van Noy said he was “surprised and disappointed” in a statement and that he may not be able to decide his next team now.
“As captain, I gave everything to the team,” Van Noy said. ‘I struggled during the season with a painful hip injury, including one night in the hospital. Paul Schwartz of The Post reports that the Giants could be a potential landing spot for Van Noy due to his familiarity with head coach Joe Judge of their New England days.
