The divisional round of the playoffs came to an end. That means we have now put the first 27 teams of the 2021 NFL Draft into place. We have four teams, which means both teams except four have solidified their first round status. What a better time for a 2021 NFL Mock Draft!
After a nail-biting scuffle between the Browns and Chiefs, and a tough loss for Lamar Jackson and the Ravens, a statement for Aaron Rodgers and the Packers and a rematch for Tom Brady and the Bucs, finally the Browns, Ravens, Rams and Saints members of #draftszn. When new teams enter the draft season, a mock draft should be written. It’s hard to watch your team lose and then turn around and immediately look at the concept, but that’s how your team is going to make another turn next year, and that’s very important.
This is a nice three-round sketch, which means all thirty-two NFL teams have a choice in this draft. Some teams have very few choices, and some teams have many. No matter the amount of choices, the concept is the best way to acquire young talent to fill the team’s schedules. Some teams look at positional needs, others take only the best player available, but all want to pick the players who they think have the most influence on their team.
The concept is not an exact science, so hopefully this mockery will help you come up with some scenarios for your favorite team!
1. Jacksonville Jaguars: Trevor Lawrence, QB, Clemson
There should be no discussion with this choice. Trevor Lawrence is the best quarterback in the 2021 NFL draft class and has been since his true freshman year. From a purely talent point of view, no one else comes close. From a technical point of view, he stands alone at the top. Trevor Lawrence is the complete package.
The newly appointed head coach, Urban Meyer, is on record believing that Lawrence is the best quarterback in college football, so it should not be too difficult to pick. Lawrence can enter this offense and show how explosive it can be with all their pieces.

2. New York Jets: Zach Wilson, QB, BYU
Everyone wanted to see Zach Wilson included in Kyle Shanahan’s system in San Francisco, but that should be the next best thing to him. Newly appointed head coach Robert Saleh has overtaken 49ers coordinator Mike LaFleur as the Jets’ new attacking coordinator. Joe Douglas is from Adam Gase to Robert Saleh and Mike LaFluer.
If you bring an attacking coach under the system under Shanahan, it’s going to be helpful for who the Jets quarterback is next year, and in this case it’s Zach Wilson. With a smart GM and confident coaching staff, the Jets are on the right track.
