Dolphins at Bills Score: Buffalo Wins AFC No. 2 Series in Outstanding Victory over Miami

The Buffalo Bills secured the No. 2 series in the AFC after a convincing 56-26 victory Sunday over the Miami Dolphins at Bills Stadium. While this win now gives Buffalo the opportunity to host several playoffs, this loss to Miami – coupled with wins by Cleveland and Baltimore – has drastically hampered his chances of reaching the post-season, no longer controlling it because it includes the regular 2020 season.

While this game ended with a combined 82 points, the points were difficult at the start as the Dolphins could only score a field goal in the first quarter. However, the second was where Josh Allen – who became the first season leader for the Bills on Sunday – and the offense really stuck out. Buffalo scored 28 points in the second quarter that effectively left Miami in the dust.

In the middle of the action, Allen completed 18 of his 25 passes for 224 yards and three touchdowns, while also throwing an interception. Two of the passing touches fell into the arms of receiver Isaiah McKenzie, who scored three total scores on the day and in the first half. The other one was awarded an 84-yard scoring ladder that helped Buffalo rise by 18 points just over five minutes before the half. Matt Barkley relieved Allen in the second half, but Buffalo’s B team still threw it at the Dolphins, outscoring them 28-20 over the last two quarters.

Without Ryan Fitzpatrick to come in and save the day, Tua Tagovailoa was the man to be central during Sunday’s loss to the Dolphins. For the first half, it looked like Miami could throw him off the field, which is mainly why they were held to just six points during the first two quarters. He finishes with 361 passes, one pass and three picks.

From here, the Bills will wait and see the rest of the AFC playoffs shake out, while the Dolphins will hope the Jaguars upset the Colts to get them into the playoffs.
