According to Dolly Parton, the president’s former medal of freedom was presented on two separate occasions by former president Donald Trump, but according to a report, both requests were rejected.
Parton, 75, made the revelation during an interview on ‘Today with Hoda & Jenna’ that aired Tuesday morning.
“I could not accept it because my husband was ill and then they asked me about it again and I would not travel because of the COVID,” she said.

Parton said she also heard from President Joe Biden about the award – the country’s highest civilian honor.
In April, the nine-time Grammy-winning artist announced that she was donating $ 1 million to research conducted at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn.
More than seven months later, it was revealed that the donation made by Parton and the work done by researchers at Vanderbilt during the trial phase directly led to Moderna announcing that it had produced a coronavirus vaccine that almost 95% was effective.
Her fans attributed her to helping cure the virus.
