Dolly Parton received her second dose of Covid-19 vaccine

The country star and international treasure has posted photos of her on which she gets the shot on Twitter on Friday.

She thanked the staff of Vanderbilt University Medical Center and wrote: “Dolly gets a (second) dose of her own medicine.”

In one of the photos, a blue bandage peeks out of the shoulder cut on her sweater.

Parton, 75, donated $ 1 million last year to the hospital’s Covid-19 research efforts in Nashville, Tennessee, which helped fund the development of the Moderna vaccine.

She got her first dose of the vaccine on March 2 and posted a video on Twitter urging them to shoot everyone if they could, “because the sooner we feel better, the sooner we get back to normal.”

Parton even edited the lyrics of her hit song “Jolene” for the occasion.

“Vaccine, vaccine, vaccine, vaccine,” she sings in the video. “I beg you, please do not hesitate.”

Tennessee will be eligible for vaccination on Monday for all residents of the state over the age of 16.
Tennessee administered more than 2.8 million doses of the vaccine, and about 23% of the state’s population received at least one dose, according to the Department of Health.
