Dolly Parton is in no hurry to get the COVID-19 vaccine after donating $ 1 million for its development. In an interview with the Associated Press, the singer said she’s postponing it because she does not want it to look like she’s getting special treatment.
“I’ll get mine first before more people get it,” Parton said. “I don’t want it to look like I’m jumping on the bandwagon just because I donated money.”
‘I’m very funny about it. I will get mine, but I will wait, ‘she added.
Parton said she originally planned to get the vaccine on her 75th birthday on January 19, but after much thought, she said to herself, ‘No, do not do that. It’s like you’re just doing a show. ‘And’ None of [her] work is really like that. ”
“I did not do it for a show,” she said.
When Parton gets the chance, she plans to do it ‘on-camera’ so she can encourage more people to get it.
“I’ll tell them the truth, if I have symptoms and all that stuff,” the artist said “9 to 5”. “Hopefully it will encourage people. I’m not going to jump the line just because I could. ‘
Besides, she knows how important it is for people in her age group to stay healthy.
‘I plan to be much taller. I have not [any] plans to delay because the number says I have to, ”she said. “I do not care. I wake up every day with new dreams. ”
Parton is a true leader and thanks to her help, the world can feel safe again after receiving their COVID-19 vaccine.
