Answer:. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), experts are still studying how long immunity is triggered.

Vaccines produced by Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna have been approved by the FDA for emergency use authorization. Both vaccines require recipients to receive two doses, 21 days apart, to achieve a maximum efficacy of approximately 95%.

According to senior medical correspondent, dr. John Torres, of NBC News, expects immunity to last several years; however, more research needs to be done to determine the longevity of its effectiveness.
