Dobbs is inactive for Steelers for their Wild Card game against the Browns

The Pittsburgh Steelers are ready for their playoff game against the Cleveland Browns at Heinz Field. The last step to set up their roster for the match is to announce the inactive list. After raising tighthead prop Kevin Rader from the training group on Saturday, the inactive list consists of six players. There are no players with an injury status for the game, but the Steelers list consists entirely of healthy scratches.

While some wanted to see the Steelers use fullback Joshua Dobbs as a pace change, it was just like in Week 17 when Ben Roethlisberger was kept out of the series, Dobbs returned to his normal place on the inactive list. Although head coach Mike Tomlin hinted that the Steelers might have Dobbs active for this reason, the Steelers went active with their standard two fullbacks on their game day.

With attacking linebacker Matt Feiler officially activated off the Reserve / Injured List on Saturday, the Steelers had an extra attacking linebacker than had to be dressed on game day. With four guards on the rankings, Danny Isidora is the bottom man on the depth chart and therefore inactive.

As the Steelers game is still struggling, it is not a luxury that the team can afford to attract four backs. That’s why rookie Anthony McFarland is inactive, as the other two reserve full-backs offer special teams’ contributions if McFarland does not.

Defensive linebacker Isaiah Buggs, linebacker Jayrone Elliott and safety Antoine Brooks Jr. are rounded out by the Steelers inactive list. All three players were active at different times during the season, but were also inactive when the Steelers were not dealing with an injury.

As for the Browns inactive list, it can be seen here thanks to ESPN’s Jake Trotter. Linemen Wyatt Teller and Jack Conklin as well as wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones are all active.
