DMX fans who were looking forward to performing at a bar in Texas next month will still be able to enjoy his music … because the rapper pays homage to the rapper’s scheduled concert.
Justin – the owner of the Wildcatter Saloon in Katy – tells TMZ … he and his team took DMX’s death very hard because they grew up for his music, and to discuss him was long.
X would play in the venue on May 29, but Justin says the Wildcatter will turn the event into a memorial concert to honor him.
We’re told that the tribute show will feature the same opening articles discussed for DMX – Tone Royal, a hip-hop artist who is a big DMX fan … and hip-hop / rock group Coozablack & Sin City.
Justin says both openers have some DMX cover songs ready to start on their setlists to start the show … but he still needs a headliner.
The bar owner tells us that he wants someone with DMX to make the evening more personal and special for fans, and some potential names are Busta rympies, Trag the truth, and a long shot … Snoop Dogg.
As we reported … DMX passed away on April 9 at the age of 50 after having an overdose the previous week, which resulted in him losing almost 30 minutes of oxygen in his brain.
As Snoop recently said about X: ‘legends never die’ … and the upcoming tribute shows that.
