Rapper DMX is still alive, and remains life-supporting, according to his manager.

Steve Rifkind, who has been working with the hip-hop icon for three years, closed rumors that emerged on Thursday, claiming that DMX was dead.

“Hello everyone, stop posting with these rumors. DMX is still alive. Yes, he is still life supportive,” Rifkind said in a video posted on his Instagram.

DMX’s manager further said the rumors of his death, which appeared on Twitter late Thursday, were “false”.

He added that the rapper’s family is expected to issue a statement on Friday.

The 50-year-old rap legend was admitted to hospital last week after a heart attack.

On Monday, family members and supporters gathered Monday for a prayer vigil outside White Plains, NY Hospital where he lives.

Collectors called “DMX! DMX!” and at the request of the keynote speaker their arms crossed in the shape of an X. The sobs of a woman resounded when those in the audience heard a recording of the rapper, whose birth name is Earl Simmons.

Simmons’ longtime lawyer, Murray Richman, said Sunday the rapper was admitted to the intensive care unit, but he was not sure what caused the heart attack.

“On Friday night, April 2, 2021, our brother, son, father and colleague DMX, born of Earl Simmons, was admitted to White Plains (NY) Hospital, facing serious health issues,” the family said through a publicity stunt. . “We ask that you please keep Earl / DMX and us in your thoughts, wishes and prayers, as well as respect our privacy as we face these challenges.”

In another statement released Sunday afternoon, it is said that the rapper remained in a coma and was in a ventilator.

Richman said he could not confirm reports that DMX (50) had an overdose of drugs and that he was not sure what caused the heart attack.

“He really is an amazing person,” Richman told The New York Times. “He walked into a room, he lit the room. He could not help making you feel good in his presence. ‘

DMX made its rap debut in 1998, releasing seven albums in a career that included three Grammy nominations. He has also acted in several films.

But drug abuse has been a struggle for him over the years, including in 2019 when he canceled shows to go to a rehabilitation center.

Nevertheless, he maintained his position among fans. An online face-off last year with co-rapper Snoop Dogg as part of the Verzuz series garnered more than 500,000 viewers.
