Disney Cruise Line on Wednesday announced another extension of its cruise suspension as it works to meet government requirements to re-carry passengers.
The cruise line canceled all cruises until March, including planned trips of the Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy.
Some trips longer than seven nights scheduled for the Disney Wonder and Disney Fantasy in June and July have also been canceled.

“Our team at Disney Cruise Line remains focused on the health and well-being of our guests and team members,” the company said in its announcement. “We are carefully preparing for service delivery according to the guidelines issued by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.”
Guests who have already paid in full for the canceled voyages can opt for a full refund or credit for a future trip. Guests who booked for the canceled voyages but did not pay in full will be refunded automatically. Disney has said it will email affected guests.

Disney has added new options for travelers to change their travel dates or to receive refunds in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, which halted all U.S. cruises last month. The company has suspended cancellation fees for cruises until July, and guests can change their cruise dates to 15 days before departure for excursions booked by 31 January. Any guests with coronavirus-related health problems can also receive a full refund without any fees.
The CDC last week issued a conditional sail order allowing cruise ships to re-enter U.S. waters, but cruise lines must first demonstrate that they can work with health safety protocols that will protect passengers and crew from COVID-19.

The CDC nevertheless considers the voyage of cruise ships to be a ‘very high level of COVID-19’. The health agency recommends that people avoid it, and anyone traveling on a cruise ship should be tested on COVID-19 between three and five days after their voyage and isolated a week after the voyage, even if they test negative.
Of course, Disney is not the only cruise line to extend cancellations. Carnival also suspended U.S. cruises until the end of March, and Royal Caribbean extended its suspension this week until April.
Disney said improved safety measures would be in place when its ships were re-employed.
