Diogo Dalot reacts to Man Utd beating AC Milan in Europa League

Diogo Dalot’s current club tackle his older one in the Europa League after AC Milan drew with Manchester United.

The Portuguese star is on loan at the Italian club because he wants to rediscover his best form.

And the 21-year-old quickly commented on United’s Instagram message announcing the game.

He answered with an eye emoji – and Dalot will be eligible to play in the European showdown.

Dalot has started in seven of the eight Europa League matches this season and will be available again for manager Stefano Pioli.

The Serie A team equalized Crvena Zvezda in their round of 32 with United beating the Spanish opposition at Real Sociedad.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team will host the first game on March 11 before traveling to San Siro a week later.

They will also be reunited with former player Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The 39-year-old played for the club during Jose Mourinho’s tenure and scored 29 times for the Red Devils.

Solskjaer was very impressed with the Swede and said jokingly about Dalot’s presence.

“Zlatan, of course, I was so impressed that I had to say how his career went,” he said.

‘He had a career-threatening injury when he was here, but came back from it and after [the] MLS, then came back to Milan and really lifted them.

“They are going and have done very well this season. I am so impressed by him and Diogo.

“He’s played a lot more games this season, kept fit and hopefully we can give him the effort!”

United faced Milan twice in the Champions League knockout phase between 2007 and 2010 with each team winning one draw.

And Solskjaer has already taken on the challenge against another heavyweight name.

He added: “We have a tradition of making it difficult in draws. “This is again one of the draws that you think could be a Champions League match,” he said.

“It’s good for us to look at these games we can look forward to. This team needs challenges and we enjoy challenges and accept them.

“The tradition and history of AC Milan, it’s a great club that welcomes us, and it’s a great stadium we’re going to, and we’re looking forward to it.”
