Second Extinction, the three-player cooperative shooting that lets you fight to reclaim the land of mutated dinosaurs, joins Xbox Game Preview this spring.
Second erasure was unveiled last year during Microsoft’s Xbox 20/20 event. You work with two other players to eradicate the dinosaurs that are wiping out across the planet in what developer Systematic Reaction describes as ‘short but intense combat operations’. Instead of your usual dinos, Second Extinction contains everything from electric birds of prey to ‘tulle T-rexes towering over the horizon.’

A recent Xbox Wire director, Simon Vickers, said it was “pretty early in the game’s development that we were able to confirm something we all suspected; to shoot and look at dinosaurs is one of the most important things to get ready for a match, it’s the core of actions we players have to do time and time again, and to nail it so early was a big win for the match a big boost to confidence that we wanted to do something special. ‘
There’s no specific date for when Second Extinction will join Xbox Game Preview outside of spring, but we do know that when the game launches for Xbox One and Xbox Series X, it will support up to 120 FPS and Microsoft’s Smart Delivery feature will use.
