“I do not need the fame, the money or the nonsense, you can have everything.”
As the annual anniversary of the launch of Netflix’s “Tiger King” documentary approaches, the relationship between star Joe Exotic and his husband shows serious signs of tension.
On Tuesday, Exotic, also known as Joseph Maldonado Passage, shouted at his husband, Dillon Passage, on social media, tying him up with others who he said were obsessed with money and fame.
“Money has destroyed my whole family. I will not let it kill my soul,” he tweeted. “You win, Dillon, Jeff Duncan, Carole.”
… It’s pretty sad to be in jail and still fucking nothing means you can ‘t even answer a phone. I see where I stand. #regverdigevoorjoeeksoties #tigerking

Duncan is Passage’s driver, while Carole, of course, is Joe’s hesitant Carole Baskin – who was convicted of the murder in a murder-for-rent plot. He is currently serving a 22-year prison sentence after being convicted on two counts of hired murder and several violations of Lacey and Endangered Special Act.
“Come March 22 for Travis’ birthday. I’m going to keep his promise I made the day of his death,” Exotic continued, referring to the man Travis Maldonado, who died from an accidental gunshot wound. “I do not need the fame, the money or the nonsense, you can have everything.”
In a follow-up tweet, he added: “It’s pretty sad to be in jail and still mean nothing that you can not even answer a phone. I see where I stand.” He also used the hashtags #JusticeForJoeExotic and #TigerKing.

Shortly after Joe’s message, Dillon goes to his own Instagram page and discusses the situation.
“He and I, like everyone in any relationship, go through their ups and downs. This is exacerbated by the fact that our relationship is very public and the fact that social media is one of his stores,” Passage wrote.
“Unfortunately, this is not the healthiest place to handle personal matters and not how I normally handle my relationship challenges,” he continued. “Joe’s obviously having a hard time in prison and I don’t think any of us can blame him for that. I’ve never spoken ill of Joe, through the ups and downs and through his good and his bad. everything and recognize and realize it for what it is; a man in prison just trying to do his best. ‘
“The presidential pardon we have all been waiting for has never come and our hopes have been dashed,” he continued, referring to Joe’s pleas to Donald Trump. “I keep supporting Joe and want to be there for him. At 25 I also have to make sure I’m healthy, physically and mentally. I know even though Joe may want to, he wants the best for me because I do for him. I am surely he wants me to lead a full life as you all do for the people you love. “
He further said that he did not want the spotlight and still does not, and that he was doing his best to ‘support Joe, live my life and love my dogs’. Passage also reminded his followers to ‘Be gentle with people in the social sphere; you never know the challenges they face and the hardships they face. There is always a hidden struggle for all of us. ‘
Exotic and Passage have been married since December 2017 and just tied the knot just two months after Maldonado’s death.
