A private island of about 20 acres in the Bahamas has just offered $ 35 million for sale – and it apparently belongs to country music stars Faith Hill and Tim McGraw.
The so-called refuge, called L’île d’Anges, was the subject of a 2017 cover of Architectural Digest’s cover profile. The couple bought the island in 2003, but reportedly only moved in in 2012. spreading to a private home needed more work than they thought.
“We are planning to build a house,” Hill told the publication. “We had no idea we had to build everything else. We basically had to build a small town. ‘
These included staff housing, infrastructure for construction staff, water and electricity.
“You don’t quite put it together at first,” McGraw said.
Over the course of a decade, the family – including the couple’s three daughters – lived in yurts by the sea while the permanent home was built.
“It was like camping,” Hill told AD. “The kids loved it!”
The two yurts are advertised in the listing, marketed by Knight Frank, adding that they were ‘initially built as temporary accommodation’. The AD story also mentions that the house is a collection of eight “pavilions”, described in the list as “pods” all connected by nearly 5,000 square feet of covered porches and corridors.
Knight Frank declined to comment on this story. It’s not clear if the couple still own the property, but a separate luxury brokerage in the Bahamas – in a published blog post in 2020 – mentions the island as theirs. The island does not appear to have sold in the years since Hill and McGraw bought it.
Representatives of McGraw and Hill did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.
L’île d’Anges, also known as Goat Cay, has more than 1 mile of waterfront. The main house is at a peak in the middle of the island and stands at 6,517 square feet. There is a wonderful room for family and guests, and the lounge leads onto the pool terrace. There is also an open kitchen and dining area, private beaches and a dock.
According to the list, there are four bedrooms, five bathrooms, and on the north side of the island, about 6,000 square feet of secondary accommodation are needed to operate the property. It contains three staff houses, engineering facilities and mechanical storage.
According to the list, L’île d’Anges is an 80-minute flight from Miami.
