During BlizzConline, Blizzard officially withdraws the curtain Diablo II: Stood up, next months of rumors. During the online event, developer Vicarious Visions unveiled a number of changes that fans of the original game can expect. While the team intends to core the original version of Diablo II, these new changes should provide a more enjoyable experience for newcomers as well as longtime fans. The biggest changes come in the form of the game’s visuals and sounds, which get a significant upgrade. Players can expect to see new models, dynamic 3D lighting and updated film art.
Fortunately, players who want to switch back to the old footage have the option to do so. A video showing the two visual options can be found in the Tweet below.

Diablo II: Risen will be launched on both computers and consoles, and players can enjoy cross-progress. The game will also have the Lord of Destruction expansion and support for mods on a computer. Last but not least, the upcoming remaster offers a number of improvements to the original game. Players can look forward to updated online options, “a shared inventory, an updated user interface, and an automatic gold pickup.” There are also tools to make it easier for players to compare items with those they have equipped.
All in all, it looks like strong improvements that will improve the game, without compromising the version that fans have come to know over the years. Diablo II has long been considered one of the most beloved dancers of all time, and its influence continues for more than two decades after its initial release. It remains to be seen whether or not it Diablo II: Risen can fulfill the original, but it certainly looks promising!
