Diablo 2: Resurrected will operate a closed alpha this weekend

Diablo 2: Resurrected presents a single player ‘technical alpha’ this weekend. As of Friday 9 April at 15:00 BST (07:00 PST) the remake of the action RPG classic is accessible to a limited number of players who have signed up and will include three classes and the first two acts of the game.

The three classes available to play are the Amazon, Barbarian, and Sorceress, and there will be no level cap to stop you skipping over the first two trades to upgrade the characters. The alpha closes on Monday 12 April at 18:00 BST (10:00 PST).

Diablo 2: Resurrected enhances the original game with new 3D art and the ability to work in 4K resolutions, but the technical alpha is also designed to gather feedback on Blizzard’s adaptations to the original systems. “We look forward to hearing all of the feedback from players as we test how Diablo 2’s timeless game fits with some of the refinements we’re working on, such as an automatic gold pickup, shared inventory and controller support,” they say.

You can find more information about what the alpha contains in this blog post. If you want to get involved yourself, you can subscribe to the technical alpha on the official Diablo 2: Resurrected website. This requires a Battle.net account and only some users will be selected.

I never played the original Diablo 2, but I’m excited to give it a try this time around, as Alice B maintains that it’s the best game in the series. Also because I haven’t played an action RPG in a while, and it feels like a better entry point than trying to understand Path Of Exile.
