May 2007: Wood plays with Manson in a sexually suggestive video for his song “Heart-Shaped Glasses (When the Heart Guides the Hand).” It is public knowledge that Wood is dating Manson, who is in the midst of a divorce from dancer Dita Von Teese. The following year, Manson and Wood divorced.
June 2009: In an interview published by SPIN, Manson says he harmed himself after his breakup from Wood, and that he fantasizes about hurting her. “I have fantasies every day about hitting her skull with a sledgehammer,” he is quoted as saying. His camp later claims that he was not serious and that he made the remarks in a spirit of theatrical exaggeration.
July 2009: Manson apparently threatens violence against music journalists. “I am very different from what the press who was soon murdered in their house decided to fabricate,” he wrote in a blog post that is no longer online, responding to a derogatory media report. “If another ‘journalist’ makes a rude statement about me and my orchestra, I will greet them in person or with my fans at home and discover how much they believe in their freedom of speech.”
November 2009: Manson publishes the video for his song “Running to the Edge of the World”, which features a scene in which he appears to be brutally beating a female character, who according to Woods looks like Wood.
January 2010: Manson and Wood are allegedly engaged; he suggests while on stage. Within months, they are apart again.
November 2016: In a Rolling clip Wood speaks for the first time in public that he was raped ‘by an important person while we were together’. She also refers to her ‘physical, psychological, [and] sexual ”abuse by a partner. She does not elaborate on the identity of the alleged offender.
October 2017: Manson’s longtime bassist Twiggy Ramirez is accused of rape. Manson, after saying he “until very recently knew nothing of these allegations” and was “saddened” by the alleged survivor’s ‘obvious distress’, is a way out with Ramirez. Ramirez issued a statement claiming that he was “only recently made aware of these allegations from more than 20 years ago”, claiming: “I do not admit to any kind of non-consensual sex.”
February 2018: Comedian and actor Charlyne Yi accuses Manson of harassing women and making racist comments on the set of the TV drama. house. Manson did not comment on the claims.
