The moon has finally been added Destiny 2 back in 2019, but last year’s Beyond Light update made its loot obsolete. Bungie plans to rectify this next season by releasing some of the old equipment with a new infusion shell back into the studio’s ongoing dance to try just get the game’s progress right.

Bungie has set out the details regarding these changes, which will be announced when season 13 starts on February 9 this week’s blog post. Here is a brief overview of the changes, which also apply to the Dreaming City, which was added in 2018 Desolate expansion:

Reissued Dreaming City Reverie Dawn and Moon Dreambane armor.

Has reissued 4 weapons for Dreaming City with new Perk Polish.

  • Wake up awake, sleepless, Vouchsafe and retold story.
  • Dreaming City weapons falling into the Shattered Throne pit can roll with benefits not available from drops from other reward sources.

Review 4 weapons for the moon with new Perk Polish.

  • Premonition (pit of heresy only), heretic, blasphemer and apostate.
  • Weapons falling into the pit of heresy pit can roll with benefits not available from drops from other reward sources.

Out of the light much changed in Destiny 2, not only to get rid of some of the game’s core locations and story campaigns, but also to make large parts of its loot obsolete. Vit’s a new sunset system cut how powerful weapons and armor can get to channel players to a smaller, more manageable, and from Bungie’s perspective, more sustainable outdoor pool. After a lot of complaints that the outdoor pool has become too small, Bungie has since tried to build it up, but a few ways it has been done.If it tries to do so, it seems in the first place that it completely undermines the simplicity behind sunset.

On the one hand, the above are welcome changes, but on the other hand, I’m not sure why it was not done from the beginning. It’s effectively an old loot that has been remixed, and added back to the game after the original versions have been rendered useless by the new infusion shell. Players who have played in the last few months Desolate and Shadow For the first time, everyone deserves sunset gear, though both expansions still cost money (rather than at Out of the light).

The old equipment also sticks for some reason. ‘To work more specifically on the actual experience, activities where reissues are obtained will be heavily weighted on the reward of reissued equipment over the limited equipmentalthough the exact weight and mechanisms may differ, ”writes assistant game director Joe Blackburn. “For example: in the Dreaming City, if you’ve already acquired an infusion weapon, it will not fall on you again.” Why does the infusion equipment not fall at all?

Bungie is also reworking Crucible and Gambit progressions. Instead of collecting tokens, players will arrange with one of the vendors as they would, and they will get programs on each rank and additional production materials at specific intervals. In fact, Shaxx and the Drifter themselves are offering mini-season passes. It seems to me to be a better system than the current, based system, but partly only because Bungie is slowly making that one less rewarding than it would otherwise be. Reward packs when you turn on tokens, drop at significantly lower power levels than your existing equipment, and also take out an extremely narrow pool of equipment that most players already have.

The new progress will make tokens obsolete, and therefore players are encouraged to hand it all in before the next season begins. In practice, this means that you have to fuss with some menus in exchange for maybe one piece of equipment out of tens and tens that has an advantage or a statrollet. Again, it feels to me like Bungie is solving another problem of its own.

But wait, there’s more! Nerves to certain Stasis abilities in PVP are also on the way. Added in Beyond Light, the Stasis subclass, which revolves around icy crystals that freeze and shatter into extremely powerful and satisfying ways, Crucible is confused because of how overwhelming it can be in competitive play. Update 3.0.2, which launches on January 19, will the scope and damage of the Shatter Dive and Whisper of Fissures capabilities are significantly exacerbated.

Tall-term, Bungie says it ‘The aim is to make the subclasses more balanced, and also governs in the ability to play gun a more effective and viable way to participate in PVP. “We’re still in a lot of early discussions, but we’re rebuilding a better balance where proper shooting is rewarding in these playlists,” writes Tomonori Kinoshita, a combat leader.

It’s now three weeks before the start of next season, and Bungie plans to see more changes in future blog posts. Hopefully they show areas where Destiny 2 will continue to grow, rather than correcting the mistakes of the past.
