Destiny 2 season 13 changes the setback, adds seasonal challenges

In Bungie’s weekly blog, the studio wrote about some important changes Destiny 2 in less than two weeks. When season 13, which according to some leaks is probably called ‘Season of the Chosen’, launches on February 9, computer players will see major changes in the setback and all players will face new seasonal challenges. Bungie also gave a very small tease for season 13 and announced a preview on February 2nd.

The biggest announcement of the blog only affects a percentage of the player base. Currently, when using a mouse and keyboard, Destiny 2 players have almost no setbacks when firing a weapon. With season 13, Bungie will adjust the difference between controller and mouse and keyboard from 40% to 20%. Mouse players will still have a 20% advantage – as using a mouse is more difficult – but the difference should not be so strong.

This change specifically applies to six weapon types: 3333

  • Car Rifle
  • Hand cannon
  • Machine gun
  • Wrist rifle
  • Scout Rifle
  • Machine gun

For wrist guns, machine guns and machine guns, Bungie also reduces their recoil and / or camera movement on all platforms.

These changes seem to be designed to combat the ‘stability issue’ of a computer. The stability status on weapons changes how much a weapon kicks when you fire it, and it has since become a completely useless stat for mouse and keyboard players. Destiny 2a PC launch in 2017. Although the weapons will still not kick as hard when using a mouse and keyboard, this change should deter players from throwing away the roles of high stability altogether.

The change is also a major cause for concern for computer gamers, as any change to the gun in Destiny could harm gamers’ enjoyment. But assistant game director Joe Blackburn Insures Polygon the team monitors figures and feedback to make sure the changes are not too extreme.

The other big announcement in this blog post is for Seasonal Challenges. Seasonal challenges are the replacement of weekly bounties – long bounties that give big rewards every week and have forced players to specific playing styles. Unlike Bounties, seasonal challenges do not require players to pick up an item from a vendor, and they are in the Triumph section in Destiny 2‘s menu.

Each week, Bungie presents players with between three and ten seasonal challenges. These challenges only expire at the end of the season, and Bungie will only add them in the first ten weeks, which means that players who only sign up in week 10 have a lot of built-up seasonal challenges to burn through. Their goals are similar to weekly benefits, but less restrictive. Some seem to focus specifically on new seasonal activities, while other players ask to defeat Guardians in Mayhem or defeat some Fallen in Strikes.

In terms of rewards, these seasonal challenges offer XP for the Season Pass, Bright Dust to spend in the Eververse store, special seasonal currencies or even ‘interesting items’. Players can only complete it once per account, which means that those with multiple characters cannot triple their seasonal challenges. Players who complete most of the seasonal challenges also earn 4,000 Bright Dust bonuses each season.

Due to the new Seasonal Challenge system, Zavala, Drifter and Shaxx lose their weekly premiums, as do Banshee-44 and the seasonal seller of each season. All of these providers still offer daily and recurring benefits that XP offers. And when it comes to free agents versus season pass holders, only about 60% of the seasonal challenges are available to free players.

But in the teaser picture above, Bungie left behind some clues about season 13. At the very top we can see the seasonal art, with a helmet with pointed ears, some gold weapons and gold pots. This suggests that we are dealing with the Cabal Empire, as the aesthetics are very similar to the Season of opulence and the Leviathan attack.

All the activities around Emperor Calus have just been placed in the Destiny Content Vault with Beyond Light, which means it is no longer in play. This leads players to believe that we are dealing with another arm of the empire: Caiatl, Calus’ daughter. Of course, we need to get a better idea of the season’s theme on February 2, when Bungie launches the new trailer.
