In Bungie’s weekly blog post, the studio has an example of two new features for Destiny 2 13th season, coming early next month. Players will be able to earn more Umbral Engrams – a beloved feature of Season of Arrivals – and they will get a new feature called ‘gilding’, which will allow dedicated players to earn titles in the game to level them. more special.
Destiny 2’s Season of Arrivals has introduced the Umbral Engram, a special item downloaded from enemies and certain activities. Players could only open their new Engrams to get items from Season of Arrivals, but the outdoor pool was quite large, making it unlikely they would get exactly what they wanted. Instead of opening it immediately, players could take these Umbral Engrams to a station in the tower named Prismatic Recaster. There they could spend some money to focus their Umbral Engrams, limiting the number of items it could become.
Instead of being a weapon or a weapon, players can focus their Umbral Engram on just being weapons. Or, after upgrading the system, they could focus their standard Umbral Engram on one that could only drop a sword or bow. It has essentially become a way for dedicated players to remove arbitrariness in their pursuit of the perfect weapon.
This system will return in season 13 – the theme of which Bungie has not yet been announced. Players can get Umbral Engrams from:
- Patrollies
- Strikes
- Furnace
- Gambit
- Nightfall: The Ordeal
- Public events
- Blind Well
- Nightmare hunting
- Exo Challenges
- Empire Hunts
- The new seasonal activity
- Enemy kills
While there are many ways to get Umbral Engrams, Bungie promises that they will not be as plentiful as Season of Arrivals. From season 13, players can take these Umbral Engrams to a new Prismatic Caster – which requires a one-time quest to teach players how to use them – to decode them into new weapons from that season. The stated purpose here is to give players a chance to pick up new weapons no matter what type of game they are playing.
But Umbral Engrams and the new Prismatic Caster not only exist as part of season 13. Bungie plans to update the system throughout year 4, and even add new pages for each season so players can get new rewards when they want. There will also be a new currency called the Prismatic Lenses, with which players can further focus their Umbral Engrams.

Apart from Umbral Engrams, players will eventually get the chance to “gild” their title stamps. In Destiny 2: Abandoned, Added Bungie Seals and Titles to the game. After players complete a set of objectives, they unlock a Seal, which gives players a title that appears under their username in the game. These titles are currently a one-time reward – once you have them, you have them. But from next season, players can improve certain Seals to really show off.
For the four stamps that fasten Destiny 2The main activities – Unbroken, Dredgen, Conqueror and Flawless – allow players to complete new Triumphs each season, gilding the Seal. Gilding a Stamp adds a new edge to the user interface, tracks how many times you’d gilded the Stamp in a previous season, and changes the title color of the game.
In the blog, Bungie used Flawless as an example – the trials of Osiris title. In the future, players who complete Flawless can complete new or Triumphs to gild Flawless, and offer all the benefits we mentioned above. Some of these Triumphs are identical to the base seal, while others ask you to get a certain number of Saint-14 rewards before the end of the season. Players have the chance to win their favorite title until the end of each season. At the end of the season, the gilded progress is restored and the new title color will fade to purple.
Both the new Umbral Engram system and the title Seal Gilding will appear in season 13, which is set to launch on February 9, according to the game clock.
