Houston quarterback Deshaun Watson reportedly has some interest in a trade to the Denver Broncos or San Francisco 49ers.

Fowler also said he was told Watson was probably not too interested in trading New York Jets and would prefer a move to the Miami Dolphins over New York.
Despite Watson’s desire to be traded, the Texans, according to interested teams, said they would not move their franchise quarter, according to Adam Schefter, ESPN.
Houston is under no obligation to trade Watson as he is under contract until 2025, but the threat of a hold exists if Watson really insists on not playing a game again with the Texans.
The loss of a franchise fullback of Watson’s kind would be devastating. However, the Texans could benefit from fetching drafts, Watson is likely to land them, especially since they will not select the first round of the NFL draft in 2021.
Between the Broncos and 49ers, Denver can probably offer Houston a better package, as he is the overall 9 pick in the 2021 draft, compared to San Francisco’s no. 12.
The Broncos also had the overall number 40 in the second round and no. 71 in the third round. The Niners have number 44 in the second round and do not own a third round.
Denver has a losing record in four consecutive seasons and has not made the playoffs since 2015, but he has a degree of offense that Watson could perhaps utilize better than current starting quarterback Drew Lock.
Wide receivers Jerry Jeudy, Courtland Sutton, KJ Hamler and Tim Patrick, as well as tighthead Noah Fant, will all benefit from Watson’s arrival.
The 49ers went through just 6-10 last season and missed the playoffs, but they are probably much closer to the championship game than Denver.
San Francisco reached the Super Bowl in 2019, but injuries to key players derailed the 2020 campaign. With the Niners, Watson would have the support of an extremely talented defense – as well as wide receivers Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel and tighthead George Kittle to throw to.
It is possible that Denver and San Francisco are Watson’s preferred destinations, but the Texans are likely to trade him rather than the Dolphins or Jets.
