The numbers continue to increase for Deshaun Watson as his camp remains silent.
Attorney Tony Buzbee told FOX 26 in Houston on Monday night that the total number of assault cases against the Texan quarterback has reached 14, with 24 total claims now being considered by Buzbee’s firm.
‘Most cases claim that the the same, or similar behavior“Buzbee said about the civil complaints about misconduct during massages.
Through it all, Watson and his representatives said very little. Although the time to formally respond to these complaints has not yet arrived, Watson’s silence has become deafening as far as the public opinion court is concerned.
Despite Buzbee’s aggressive tactics and sometimes unobstructed and / or unreliable public statements (e.g, he does not seek publicity if he is, the business is not about money if it is, he does not know the Texan owner “Cal or Hal [McNair] whatever his name is ”), Buzbee’s approach is largely appealing to the public because Watson’s approach was to do or say almost nothing.
Meanwhile, it is somewhat unusual that no other attorneys represent clients who make similar claims against Watson. In a situation like this, other attorneys who have law firms with significant monthly expenses and who have the habit of seeking publicity and / or cash will come forward along with other own claimants. Since so many women are making so many claims against Watson, it’s a little strange that none of them were eventually represented by anyone else from Buzbee.
Then maybe this is the next step in all of this. Given the way this matter has become strong, there is no reason to think the list of potential plaintiffs ends at 24. There may be more being evaluated by other attorneys in Houston or elsewhere.
Even if there are no additional plaintiffs, the sheer volume of claims makes it increasingly difficult to think that there is an innocent statement or that they are adorned, fabricated, or lying flat.
