The Deshaun Watson lawsuit continues. For the first time, Watson submitted paperwork in support of his position.

Attorney Rusty Hardin filed a motion to dismiss the charge of one of his 22 defendants, demanding that the case be revoked in her real name.

Along with submitting eight pages, Hardin issued a statement.

‘We’ve said it before and we want to say it again,’ Hardin said, ‘Deshaun did not force, coerce or intimidate anyone into doing anything against their will. When we met Mr. Buzbee asked weeks ago to identify his clients, he declined and asked us to file a motion. Today we have tabled the motion. As discussed in our submission, the use of anonymous lawsuits by Mr. Buzbee violates Texas law and the basic concept of equity. Clearly, in this case, Buzbee has never dealt with justice in a courtroom, but with destroying Deshaun’s reputation for improving his own public profile and enriching himself. Although I understand that anonymity is often used as a shield for victims, Mr. Buzbee it like a sword. While Mr. Buzbee protects his clients from public oversight, he continues with their anonymous allegations to Mr. To destroy Watson. This is simply not right. And we look forward to resolving these issues in court. ”

The filing, made in the case filed by Jane Doe no. 7 was filed two days after two of the plaintiffs disclosed their identities: Ashely Solis and Lauren Baxley. Presumably, similar motions will be filed in all cases in which the plaintiff continues with a pseudonym.

It is unclear whether the ongoing attempt to undermine Buzbee will register in the court of public opinion, where many believe the battle is already lost. Obviously, Buzbee’s words and motivations will ultimately mean nothing if it’s time for the parties to present evidence and arguments in support of the plaintiffs’ position that Watson committed wrongdoing and Watson’s position that he did not.
