The Los Angeles Lakers absolutely destroyed the Golden State Warriors in the first half of their first game – so much so that Steph Curry hit Dennis Schroder on the nose.

The play in question, which took place during the second quarter, is actually a decent litmus test for hoop fans on what should be an offensive mistake on a jump shot. Curry pump-forged and launched himself into Schroder, the defender, and nailed the Lakers guard in the process. Schroder, meanwhile, done bite on the pump-fake and enter Curry’s shooting range, whistling for the offense. But during the replay, Curry appeared to have begun contact, and the Lakers disputed the call.

Eventually, the play was maintained, which did not satisfy Lakers fans on Twitter, nor did it satisfy Schroder. He started complaining to the Dubs star, who apparently offered a half-hearted but non-confrontational explanation. As the Warriors were about a billion points lower, Curry’s teammate and brother-in-law Damion Lee decided to tackle the fight and cheer things up, which fueled Schroder and forced his own teammates to collect a round.

As is the case with most NBA scrums, nothing really happened. But because Curry and Schroder could not get things through properly, they could in fact remain mortal enemies forever.

I also have to be honest: this looks like an offensive offense.
