Dennis Rodman’s daughter Trinity registers for NWSL draft

Washington State forward Trinity Rodman, the daughter of former NBA star Dennis Rodman, is one of the players to be selected in the NWSL draft Wednesday.

Rodman, 20, has long been a standout for the U.S. youth team, which has performed brilliantly with her speed and finishing ability. She scored eight goals and six assists for the team that won the CONCACAF Under-20 Women’s Championship in 2020 and 2020.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the collegiate football season for women in 2020 was postponed until the spring of 2021, meaning Rodman could never tackle the Cougars.

The concept has lost some luster with the news that Stanford forward Catarina Macario has signed a 2-year contract with European champions Olympique Lyonnais, but Rodman is one of those expected to be taken in the first round.

Other possible choices in the first round are midfielder / forward Brianna Pinto of the University of North Carolina, defender / midfielder Kiki Pickett of Stanford and UNC defender Emily Fox.

Racing Louisville FC holds the overall number 1 as well as the fifth pick in the first round. Sky Blue FC has three of the first eight picks, including number 3 and number 4.

The NWSL concept is on Wednesday at 19:00 ET and will be broadcast exclusively on Twitch.
