Denmark becomes the 1st European country to completely stop using AstraZeneca jab due to ‘real risk of serious side effects’ – RT World News

AstraZeneca’s increasingly investigated Covid-19 vaccine has been permanently discontinued in Denmark following investigations linking the sites of rare blood clots.

The Danish Health Authority announced in a statement on Wednesday that it had done so “Decided to continue at this stage without AstraZeneca,” quotation “A possible link between very rare cases of unusual blood clots, bleeding, low platelet count” and the jabs.

“Our overall assessment is that there is a real risk of serious side effects associated with the use of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine,” Soeren Brostroem, director-general of the Danish health authority, claims and explains the decision. He added that the country has other vaccines to spread, while believing that the epidemic is currently under control. Danes who have already received their first AstraZeneca jab are invited to be vaccinated with another supplier.

Why scientists think it is good to discover the side effects of vaccines, because many fears about blood clots doubt

Denmark is the first European country to completely ban the AstraZeneca vaccine – which was renamed Vaxzevria last month – after the European Medicines Agency confirmed the link between the vaccine and blood clotting, but said its benefits outweighed the risks of side effects.

Several European countries have decided to give the jab only to older people, and those who received the first shot are advised to provide the second with the mRNA vaccine.
Meanwhile, another EMA-approved vaccine, Johnson & Johnson, is receiving similar investigation into cases of blood clotting and at least one death.

Both the United States and the European Union are investigating the jab, while Australia refuses to buy any doses.
