In an ad aimed specifically at Murkowski, who has become one of Trump’s most outspoken Republican critics, the super PAC begins by saying, “the Trump-led assault on law enforcement and our Capitol cannot be forgotten,” as it shows footage of rioters inside the building.

The 16-second video continues: “Our senators must do their job by holding Trump accountable for this violent uprising on January 6.”

The ad gives viewers the phone number for Murkowski’s office in Washington, DC, in which she asks voters to “tell her she has to convict Trump.”

In a statement shared with The Hill, US Bridge President Bradley Beychok said: “To protect our democracy and our rule of law, Donald Trump must be held accountable.”

Beychok added: “We call on Republican senators to put their country before their party for once and hold Trump accountable so that the uprising we saw on January 6 will never happen again.”

Murkowski this week told reporters amid the arguments of managers of the House accusations before the Senate that the Democrats “makes a very strong argument for a timeline showing the words used when he [Trump] they use, how he really built up the anger, the violence we have seen here in this Capitol. ”

On Wednesday, after the second day of the indictment, Murkowski said: “After the American public set out the full story here … I do not see how Donald Trump can be re-elected to the presidency.”

Meanwhile, Romney is seen as a likely vote in favor of conviction, as he was the only Republican senator who voted to remove Trump from office after his first indictment last year.

Other moderate Republicans have criticized Trump for repeatedly making unsubstantiated allegations of a “fraudulent” election, although it is unclear whether each of them will be moved to cross party lines and vote with Democrats to vote for Trump. found guilty.

After Democrats closed their arguments Thursday, Trump’s team taken the center Friday, and his defense largely focused on the claim that Trump’s remarks that led to the mob attack were protected by the First Amendment.

Democrats need 17 GOP senators to agree with them to convict Trump, a result widely considered unlikely.
