Delivery driver kidnapped, robbed in Far North Dallas, Dallas police say

A woman delivering a pizza in Far North Dallas was abducted and robbed late Saturday, police said.

The 35-year-old woman, whose name was not released, walks back to her vehicle at about 10pm after delivery at an apartment complex in the 5000 block of Pear Ridge Drive, near the Dallas North Tollway and President George Bush Turnpike, when a person holding a gun approached demanding money from her .

He ordered the woman into her vehicle and sat in the driver’s seat, police said.

Police said he threatened and assaulted her when he drove around Dallas for about an hour. He stops at an ATM and orders the woman to withdraw money. He took about $ 400 from her, a police spokesman said.

The robber then drove to a West Dallas convenience store in the 5500 block of Bernal Drive, where the woman jumped out of the car and ran inside for help. According to police calls, several officers were sent to the scene around 11:15 p.m.

While the store clerk called police, the robber fled in the white Kia Sportage from the victim, police said.

Investigators did not provide a detailed description of the robber or other information about him. A spokesman said Sunday morning he remains at large.
