Dee Ford played only one game for the 49ers in 2020 and missed the rest of the season with a back injury.

After Ford signed a $ 85.5 million contraction in five years in 2019, Ford had an injury guarantee that would be fully guaranteed $ 11.6 million if it were on the roster on April 1st. The 49ers could not release Ford as the randruser a.

Ford apparently can’t do that. Now San Francisco and Ford have agreed to a restructured two-year agreement according to Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero of NFL Media worth $ 24 million.

Ford has only played 12 games with a few starts since the 49ers acquired him from the Chiefs for a second round. He scored 6.5 bags in the 2019 season and had a bag in the post-season 2019 as the 49ers won the conference championship and played in Super Bowl LIV.

But he was only 22 percent of San Francisco’s defensive grips on the field that year.

Ford played his first five seasons with Kansas City, and he recorded 30.5 sacks, 69 quarterback hits, nine fumbles and 36 tackles for loss.

But Ford’s future may be in the air, as he has a history of back problems. He had surgery on his back earlier in 2011 while in Auburn and in 2017.
