A faithful dog waited outside a hospital in Turkey for almost a week until its owner was released after being treated for a brain condition.
The dedicated pooch, named Boncuk, followed the ambulance that took Cemal Senturk, 68, to the hospital in the Black Sea city of Trabzon on January 14, reports the news agency DHA.
Bonuck – whose name means ‘beads’, referring to her hazel eyes, then returned each morning to the entrance to continue her solitary vigilance, where hospital staff would sometimes feed her.
“She’s not endangering anyone. Everyone noticed the relationship between the dog and her owner. According to Reuters, Fuat Ugur said in hospital. It makes everyone happy.
Security guard Muhammet Akdeniz told DHA: ‘She arrives around 09:00 every day and waits until evening. She does not go in. When the door opens, she sticks her head inside. ‘
Senturk’s daughter, Aynur Egeli, said she tried several times to take Boncuk home, but the dog would rush back to hospital.
When Senturk is finally released on Wednesday, a delighted Boncuk runs next to his wheelchair, jumps up to be petted and swings her tail.
‘It makes one very happy. “The dog is very close to us, like a human, and that makes you happy,” Senturk said.
“She is very used to me. And I also miss her constantly, “he added.
