JJ Watt was one of the most sought-after products in the NFL-free agency, and on Monday he came to a decision. In an announcement on his Twitter account (not on Peloton!), Watt revealed that he has signed with the Arizona Cardinals. According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Watt signed a $ 31 million two-year deal with $ 23 million guaranteed.

Last month, Watt asked for release from the Texans and the franchise granted the wish of the veteran passer. The three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year is now reunited with former Texans teammate DeAndre Hopkins in Arizona and will take part in a terrifying pass-rush that also includes Chandler Jones.

Watt’s decision to sign with the Cardinals was somewhat surprising to the NFL world. Teams like the Buffalo Bills, Cleveland Browns and Tennessee Titans were reportedly very interested in scoring Watt. In addition, Watt could also join his brothers TJ and Derek Watt, who both play for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Watt clearly still has a lot of gas left in the tank and can really help transform Arizona’s top seven. The Cardinals are coming off an 8-8 season in which they missed the playoffs, but Watt can help change the fortunes in 2021.

Here’s how the NFL world reacted to Watt’s signing with the Cardinals.
