The 2021 Ram TRX got the Hellcat treatment for the 2021 model year, and people are screaming to get a piece of it, including prize winners beating a hefty premium on this truck. The TRX is a brilliantly fun vehicle starting at $ 69,995, which is at the highest end of the pickup’s price range. Some voracious dealers and carriers are taking advantage of the wave of excitement over the new TRX, earning $ 10,000 to $ 25,000 in additional standard expenses and an almighty $ 50,000 for a launch edition.
Jalopnik reported yesterday that 193 Ram TRXs are available across the country. Of that number, more than half sell for or near MSRP, from $ 72,000 to $ 96,000, depending on the options added to the base model. The TRX Level 2 Equipment Group, for example, adds nearly $ 8,000 to your building with heated bucket seats, wireless charging and a host of luxury features. On eBay, however, New Jersey car dealer King of Cars and Trucks Inc is offering another Launch Edition with only 13 miles to go for $ 124,900. Even when fully loaded like our recent tester – with a sticker of $ 89,565 – it’s still a surcharge of $ 35,000.
You can take the attitude of one commenter on the Reddit thread who said, “if you can afford a TRX, you can afford a TRX + $ 50,000.” I accept the demand and demand for the market. It may not be illegal, but it’s not pretty.
