Dax Shepard said he had ‘bizarre fears’ about announcing relapse: ‘I was terrified’

In September last year, the 46-year-old actor publicly announced that he had returned from a car accident with opiates. At the time of his announcement, he said he had not been drinking or using cocaine in 16 years.

Shepard spoke during a virtual appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Tuesday about the disclosure of the information and why he finds it so difficult.

Shepard added: “I was terrified that I would lose it. The actor’s friend said his relapse had ‘real value’ to fans and that it was’ useful ‘to announce’.

Shepard was convinced and with his renewed addiction made the public known, saying the idea of ​​starting had ‘become much easier’ after hearing the perspective.

He confirmed that he was seeking help at the time and was also talking to his family and a small group of friends.
