David Bowie’s son, Duncan Jones, reflects on the death of his father: ‘It is remarkable and pleasing that father is still so clearly loved by so many people’

Director Duncan Jones, the son of David Bowie, reflected on his father’s death five years later.

On Twitter, Jones said it was “remarkable” that Ziggy is still celebrated with so much enthusiasm years after his passing.

“It’s been five years since Dad died. We are all a little sad and treat each one in our own way, ‘he wrote.

‘But it’s striking and pleasant that Dad still loves so many people so much. Yes, he missed … but with so much of ‘him’ in the work he’s done, he’s clearly still here. ”

David Bowie passed away on January 10, 2016, two days after his 69th birthday, from liver cancer.

A large number of musicians paid tribute to Bowie in light of the commemoration of his death. We Are KING has returned after a break of almost five years to release a cover of ‘Space Oddity’, which is part of a larger tribute compilation, ‘Modern Love’.

A tribute live stream, A Bowie celebration: just for one day, was broadcast last Saturday (January 9). Performances, including Yungblud, Billy Corgan, Trent Reznor, Anna Calvi and Duran Duran, all performed for the concert.

Unheard covers of John Lennon’s’ Mother ‘and Bob Dylan’s Bowie’s’ Tryin’ To Get To Heaven ‘were also released for the first time.

Bowie released his latest album, ‘Blackstar’, a few days before his death. Talk to NME, Bowie collaborator Donny McCaslin said goodbye to the singer’s idea with his final record.

‘There’s the saying that’ Blackstar ‘is this farewell, which I totally get. But it coexists with the fact that he was just as creative. He intended to do more, “he said.

However, longtime friend and producer Robert Fox said NME the opposite, and said Bowie is far too good of his prediction.

“No, he knew. I think he knew. Definitely, around Lazarus, it was very clear that there would be nothing else but a miracle. ‘
