Back in 2018, it was reported that Dave Grohl and his mother Virginia were developing a TV series based on Virginia Grohl’s 2017 book. From cradle to stage. The program now has a premiere: the first episode of From cradle to stage will be broadcast on Thursday 6 May on Paramount +. Watch a teaser for the series below.
The guests in the series include Pharrell and his mother, dr. Carolyn Williams, Miranda and Bev Lambert, Brandi and Teresa Carlile, Rage Against the Machine’s Tom Morello and his mother Mary, and Rush ‘Geddy Lee with his mother Mary Weinrib. The six episode From cradle to stage– from Live Nation Productions, in collaboration with Endeavor Content – directed by Dave Grohl.
The series is inspired by (and named after) Virgina Grohl’s book. “I believe the relationship between a musician and their mother is so important because it is the foundation of their understanding of love, which is surely the artist’s greatest muse,” Dave Grohl said in a press release about the series. ‘The opportunity to travel the country and tell the stories of these wonderful women behind the curtain not only threw the music that inspired them, but also appreciated the love of my own mother, my best friend,. It goes without saying that we all owe a debt of gratitude to the women who gave us life. Because without them there would be no music. ”
Grohl recently released a trailer for his upcoming film about touring and vans What drives us. Last week he collaborated with Mick Jagger on their new single “Eazy Sleazy.”
