LONDON (AP) – Police say one of the largest rabbits in the world was stolen from his home in central England.

Darius, a continental giant rabbit, disappeared from his fence in a backyard in the town of Stoulton over the weekend, West Mercia police said. They did not elaborate on why they thought it was a theft instead of an escape.

The force appealed for information about or observation of Darius, who is gray-brown and 129 centimeters tall. He holds the Guinness World Records quote for the longest rabbit in the world. Rabbits of its species are known to weigh about 7 to 9 kilograms.

Owner Annette Edwards, a large rabbit breeder and model, urged the culprit or culprits to return Darius 160 kilometers north-west of London to his home, saying it was a ‘very sad day’.

She initially offered a reward of £ 1,000 ($ 1,370), but tweeted Tuesday: ‘Please, I’m so upset. Can you bring my Darius back, I’ll reward the reward to £ 2,748 pounds. ‘
