A Cold warning is valid until Monday afternoon.
Tonight: It was a cold record day with a high far below zero. Road conditions have improved, but some drivetrains lead to icy cold. Tonight we will be partly cloudy. The best chance for the partly cloudy sky is in the northwest and this is where the temperature will be the coldest, in the mid teens below zero. Where the sky is mostly cloudy, the temperature in the single digits and the low double digits will be below zero. There may be some flags in the southeast tonight. Winds are north of 5 to 15 km / h. This will cause dangerous wind colds from -25 to -40 degrees below zero. Frostbite will sit on the exposed skin for about 10 minutes.
President’s Day: Monday will be partly cloudy (northwest) to partly sunny with a chance for a few flakes early in the southeast. While the temperature improves, it may remain below zero for those in the west and north and slightly above zero for areas east and south. Wind gusts remain within -15 to -30 with a north wind of 5 to 15 km / h.
Monday night: The same trend of partly cloudy clouds in the northwest and some flags / clouds in the southeast continues Monday night. Again, lows drop to teens below zero in the northwest with single digits and low double digits below zero in the southeast. Winds will become lighter, but wind chills will still be about 25 to 45 below zero.
Tuesday: Sky looks partly cloudy with a return to temperatures above zero. Winds are expected to be light and erratic for Tuesday, with less drastic cold fever still set to be below zero. We will drop to the single digits below zero on Tuesday night.
Wednesday: There is a chance of light snow with highs to teens. Winds will be southeast from 5 to 10 km / h.
Rest of the week: Thursday partly sunny, partly cloudy. Temperatures remain much lower than normal, but the highest points remain both days in the mid-teens. Lows remain slightly below zero for much of the week.
Next weekend: There will be more clouds and a chance of snow during the weekend, BUT the temperature is back to around the low and mid 20s with single digits and teens for lows. We have to go back to the thirties next week.
