Dan Hardy has worked for years as a UFC color commentator and combat analyst for the UFC’s British broadcast partner, BT Sport. The former UFC title challenger was absent during recent UFC events, and that’s because he no longer works for both companies.
According to a report by Dave Meltzer, Hardy was ‘fired’ by the UFC and BT Sport over a case in Abu Dhabi where he was arguing with a female employee. ‘
Hardy has been discussing the topic on social media ever since. He did not divulge too much, but stated that it was due to a “disagreement over an opportunity that was missed or withheld.”
Rather misleading heading there, @bjpenndotcom. Also not entirely accurate.
I no longer work directly with the UFC. The ‘female’ part is irrelevant. There was a disagreement about a chance that was missed or withheld, and I would love answers, but I do not get. https://t.co/OWN3huP8Pe– Dan Hardy (@danhardymma) 7 March 2021
Thank you for the kind words and support. I’m fine and I’m not going anywhere. I will still break down fights on my channel and elsewhere …
I’m employed by MMA here, and sometimes it puts you on the other end of the line.
It is going well with me.

The former UFC fighter also had a previous incident in Fight Island, where he collided with Herb Dean in July last year. He also criticized the veteran referee over his hesitates during a UFC 259 break this past weekend.
Since being promoted, the talented commentator and analyst has been more active on his own YouTube channel, Full Reptile. He has also been actively trying to resume his MMA career, with his efforts to include a recent call against Nick Diaz.
That interview also had a great thing that makes a little more sense now that his situation has been made public. He mentioned how he struggles to discuss a fight discussion with the promotion.
“I’m trying to make contact with the UFC and it’s very difficult right now,” Hardy said. “So, social media is the best way to go about it.”
Hardy is now 38 years old and has not participated since 2012 as he was diagnosed with a heart condition, Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome.
