The Dallas County COVID-19 report on Sunday reflected a total of 3,851 new cases of coronavirus, pushing the country’s overall positive results to more than 200,000.
The county also announced ten more deaths, including three Dallas residents: a man in his 50s, a woman in her 60s and a woman in her 80s.
Four Mesquite residents were also killed, including a woman in her 80s and three residents for long-term care. It is unclear whether the three victims in long-term care – two men and a woman in the 90s – lived at the same or different facilities.
The other victims who died were a Grand Prairie man in his 50s, a Rowlett man in his 70s and a Garland woman in her 70s. Of the ten deaths reported Sunday, all but the two men in their 50s had underlying health problems.

The report included Sunday’s data from Friday and Saturday, officials said. Of the cases, 3,677 were confirmed and 154 probable.
The newly reported cases bring the province to 200,011 – 178,174 confirmed and 21,837 likely to stand. The province’s death toll stands at 1,661.
Health officials use hospitalizations, admissions for intensive care and emergency visits as key statistics to track the real-time impact of COVID-19 in the country. The country will provide hospitalization data next Tuesday.
The province reported that 5971 children and staff members from more than 700 K-12 schools tested positive for COVID-19 during the past 30 days. In Dallas County, 102 long-term care activities have experienced active outbreaks of coronavirus – the highest since the beginning of the pandemic, officials said.
More than two-thirds of all confirmed cases requiring hospitalization were among people under 65, and according to the province, diabetes was an underlying condition in about a third of all patients admitted to the hospital.
Of the province’s total confirmed COVID-19 deaths, approximately 22% are associated with long-term care facilities.
Statewide data
Across the state, another 16,045 cases and 50 COVID-19 deaths were reported. Texas has now reported a total of 1,793,341 cases and 27,917 deaths.
Of the new cases, 14,535 were confirmed and 1,510 likely. The state reported 1,582,615 confirmed cases and 210,726 probable cases.
The state also added 46 older confirmed cases and four older probable cases recently reported by labs.
There are 12,563 COVID-19 patients in Texas hospitals, including 3,751 in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
According to the state panel, 23.92% of the patients in the hospital region covering the Dallas-Fort Worth area were COVID-19 patients.
The seven-day average positivity rate across the country for molecular tests, based on the date of collection of the test sample, was 20.21% on Saturday. State health officials said the use of data based on when people were tested was the most accurate percentage.
For antigen tests, the positivity rate for the same period was 12.18%.
Tarrant county
Tarrant County on Sunday reported 4,367 cases of coronavirus and 13 new deaths.
The most recent victims were a North Richland Hills woman in her 90s, a River Oaks woman in her 80s, a Bedford man in his 80s, a Haltom City man in his 80s, a Lakeside man in his his 80s, an Arlington woman in her 70s, a Haltom City man in his 70s, a Fort Worth man and woman in their 60s, an Arlington man in his 50s, a Fort Worth man in his 50s, a White Settlement man in his 40s and an Arlington woman in her 30s. A total of one victim had underlying health conditions, the country said.
The newly reported cases bring the province to 157,732, including 137,518 confirmed cases, 20,214 probable cases and 114,800 recoveries. The death toll stands at 1,525.
According to Sunday’s numbers on the provincial dashboard, 1399 people are being admitted to hospital with the virus.
Collin county
The state on Sunday added 942 cases of coronavirus and one new COVID-19 death. The province has now posted 50,954 cases and a death toll of 378.
No details about the latest victims were available.
Of the new cases, 940 have been confirmed and two likely. Collin County recorded 45,674 confirmed cases and 5,280 probable cases. According to state data, the province has 5,365 active cases and has recorded 40,309 reimbursements.
The province’s coronavirus dashboard offers only total hospitalizations, now at 527.
Denton county
Denton County officials said they would no longer report new coronavirus data on Sundays.
As of Saturday, the country reported 39,792 cases, including 12,952 that were active and 26,622 recovered. The death toll stood at 218.
Other provinces
The Texas Department of Public Health has taken over reporting for these other North Texas counties. In some provinces, new data is not reported every day.
The latest numbers are:
- Rockwall County: 6,270 cases (5,208 confirmed and 1,062 likely), 54 deaths.
- Kaufman County: 9,306 cases (8,125 confirmed and 1,181 likely), 124 deaths.
- Ellis County: 13,261 cases (11,675 confirmed and 1,586 probable), 176 deaths.
- Johnson County: 11,135 cases (9,872 confirmed and 1,263 likely), 163 deaths.
