Daisy Ridley questions the director who called her ‘Aggressive’

I thought, ‘But why? Is it because I kept eye contact? Said Ridley.

Daisy Ridley opens in the February 2021 issue of Tatler magazine (via Yahoo) about being labeled ‘intimidating’ and ‘fairly aggressive’ during various productions. Ridley’s career includes three ‘Star Wars’ films, ‘Murder on the Orient Express’, ‘Ophelia’, and the upcoming action film ‘Chaos Walking’ directed by Doug Liman, among others. It was on ‘Chaos Walking’ where a crew member told the actress that she was intimidating.

“I was told I was intimidating,” Ridley said. ‘It was’ Chaos Walking’. I had my hair done and put on my wig. I remember thinking, ‘God, do I have to be smaller? Should I be quieter? “I was also called aggressive. My energy is ‘very aggressive’. This was during a meeting with a director. ”

I thought, ‘But why? Is it because I kept eye contact? Is it because I’m passionate about what we’re talking about? “I do not know,” Ridley continued. “You have the terrible sinking feeling of ‘God, am I not coming as I think?'”

In “Chaos Walking”, Ridley plays Tom Holland, Mads Mikkelsen, Demián Bichir, Cynthia Erivo, Nick Jonas and David Oyelowo. The film has gone through several delays with the release of Lionsgate, but is expected to debut in theaters in 2021 if the pandemic allows. The film could give Ridley her second major tent pole franchise after ‘Star Wars’.

“When I reported ‘Star Wars,’ there was nothing in my contract that said, ‘Your life will be talked about,'” Ridley told Tatler that she was guarding her personal life in the press. came to the point that I realized so much of my life out there. People knew my mother’s name, my father’s name, what my sisters were doing. And I thought it would be nice to have something that is for me, “which is not different for everyone. I just thought I would keep it separate.”

Although Ridley does not talk about her personal life, she becomes honest with the press about her place in the film industry and receiving her projects. Ridley admitted that the outrage over the release of ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’ was ‘disturbing’ to her, while she later said she was ‘completely satisfied’ with the story of her character.

“Chaos Walking” is the only project Ridley released in 2021. Lionsgate has the action-epic series released on March 5th.
