Daft Punk breaks up after 28 years, confirms publicist

Kathryn Frazier told CNN the reports that the couple are retiring are true, but give no reason for the split.

The Grammy-winning act is known for using computerized singing and wearing head coverings in public and in all of their music videos. They started the week by sharing a typically enigmatic video, titled “Epilogue”.

In the eight-minute film, the duo – Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo – are seen in a desert in their distinctive space-time helmets and leather jackets.

One of the two took off his jacket and revealed an igniter on his back. The other one presses a button on the igniter. His companion walks away and eventually explodes.
