Dad. Confirm 2,818 additional cases, another 90 deaths | Pennsylvania News

HARRISBURG, Pa. The Department of Health confirmed from 20:00 on 20 February that there were 2 818 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the total amount to 911 591.

There are 2061 individuals hospitalized with COVID-19.

Of that number, 441 patients are in the intensive care unit with COVID-19.

According to officials, most of the patients admitted to the hospital were 65 years or older, and most deaths occurred in patients 65 or older.

The trend in the 14-day moving average number of hospitalized patients per day is approximately 3,500 lower than at 25 December 2020.

The current average of 14 days is just lower than it was at the peak of the spring peak on May 3, 2020, officials say.

The positive percentage of the whole country for the week of 12 February – 18 February was 6.5%.

As of 11:59 p.m., Friday, February 19, there were 90 new deaths identified by the Pennsylvania Death Registry, a total of 23,570 deaths attributed to COVID-19. Country-specific information and a map are available on the COVID-19 Data Dashboard.

COVID-19 Distribution of vaccines

Hospitals in Pennsylvania began receiving Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine the week of December 14th and Modern COVID-19 vaccine the week of December 21st.

Officials note that this includes the administration of vaccines by the CVS and Walgreens as part of the Federal Pharmacy Partnership.

Vaccination numbers for Pennsylvania do not include Philadelphia, which is its own jurisdiction, or federal facilities that work directly with the federal government.

This week, a total of 326 850 doses were awarded until 20 February:

  • 183,575 first doses were awarded this week.
  • 143 275 doses will be given this week.

To date, we have administered 1,931,557 of the 2,766,400 doses granted up to February 20 to February 19, 1957 doses:

  • First doses, 88 percent (1,421,115 administered out of 1,610,175 allocated)
  • Second doses, 44 percent (510,442 administered from 1,156,225 administered)

Officials recall that wearing masks is necessary in all businesses and when they leave home. Continuous mask wear is critical to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

According to officials, there are 107,257 individuals who have a positive viral antigen test and who are considered likely cases, and 637 individuals who have a positive serology test and COVID-19 symptoms or a high risk exposure.

There are 3,815,778,266 individuals who have tested negative to date.

In licensed nursing and personal care homes, there are 65,992 cases of COVID-19 and 12,816 cases among employees, a total of 78,808 at 1,565 different facilities in all 67 provinces.

Of the total deaths reported to PA-NEDSS, 12,223 occurred in residents of nursing or personal care facilities, officials said. Here you can find an outline of the country.

Officials note that the number of deaths reported to NEDSS is not exactly the same as the COVID-19 deaths reported by the death register. The number of deaths among residents and employees of nursing homes and home care homes was derived from the PA-NEDSS death data, as this information is not available in the death register data.
