Cyberpunk 2077’s next major update will try to fix cops and cars

When the delayed 1.2 a patch arrives, you can finally free your car if it gets stuck. CD Projekt Red offers some details on what to expect with a series of videos and a preview of the patch notes.

Until now, the police have tended to show up too quickly if you commit a crime – sometimes they will chase after you or fall from the sky. The 1.2 patch should fix this. The Night City Police Department will also send CDs to create the feeling of the police assessing the situation, according to CDPR.

Vehicles should feel less uncomfortable thanks to speed and steering adjustments, as well as the addition of a steering sensitivity shift. Cars also need to handle better when the frame rate drops. CDPR said it was “code that does not properly handle extreme changes in the frame rate.”

If your car is stuck on something, you need to be able to turn it. “While holding down the accelerator, you can now swing the vehicle forwards or backwards, or turn left / right,” the developers wrote.

The patch will also introduce more key binding options that should have been in play from the start. You will be able to disable an option that evades V if you double-tap a motion test (pressing the crunch button twice quickly will still cause it). Computer players also have more options for the keychains for movement.

More changes may be included in the patch. The update is also supposed to make the game run better on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Maybe it will even convince Sony to bring the game back.

The first major Cyberpunk 2077 patch and the second one was supposed to take effect the following month. Reportedly, however, CDPR is until the end of March.
