Cyberpunk 2077’s new 1.1 update introduces bug fixing bug

Cyberpunk 2077‘s big new 1.1 patch has introduced a game-breaking bug. Eurogamer reported that the ‘Down on the Street’ search was apparently broken for some players. The quest contains a holocall that is supposed to progress through most of the Cyberpunk 2077see storyline. Unfortunately, some players report that the call is silent, blocking the game’s progress.

The developer CD Project Red has released a solution for the release, but it requires players to save the game earlier to make the holocall work. Here are the steps:

  1. Load a pair of games before Takemura and V leave Wakako’s office
  2. Immediately end the conversation with Takemura outside the office
  3. Skip 23h after the conversation and after the search has been updated
  4. See if the holocall starts and the dialogue with Takemura starts

Cyberpunk 2077 since the December 10 release has been plagued by bugs, and CD Project Red has released three corrections to fix the early issues. Fortunately, most mistakes and issues did not break the game like the players discovered this week.

This new 1.1 update was supposed to be the first major patch to introduce stability improvements, not game-breaking bugs. CD Project Red is also planning another major 1.2 patch which is a “bigger, more important update” which will be the last 1.1 patch in the weeks to come. However, it is not yet clear if there will be a quick fix to fix this latest issue.
