Another day, another Cyberpunk 2077 work to solve a critical problem. Earlier this week, it was revealed that there was a vulnerability that enabled hackers to take over players’ computers through malicious code injected into mods and custom files could be customized. CD Project Red encouraged players not to use mods until it could solve the problem.
Hotfix 1.12 is now available on PC!
This update addresses the vulnerability, which can be exploited as part of external code execution (including saving files):

Hotfix 1.12, which is now starting on a PC, “addresses the vulnerability that could be used as part of the execution of external code (including storage files), according to the studio. The update fixes an issue with buffer overrun and removal replace non-ASLR DLLs.
It should be relatively safe for you to use Cyberpunk 2077 mods again. While there’s always a chance that mods contain risky executable files, it’s probably good that you want to give the grim Night City a cell-shaded, comic book-style aesthetic.
